The work of The Navigators in Europe takes many forms, each uniquely contributing to the mission of making disciples. Among these, the pioneering ministry of Stefan and Anita Pals on the Greek island of Samos stands out as a response to the ongoing refugee crisis. Compelled by a deep conviction to serve where the need is great, the couple moved to Greece to start a ministry that integrates discipleship with justice.

This November marks a remarkable milestone for Navigators work in Bratislava: 50 years of Navigators’ ministry. For half a century, God’s vision for gospel impact has been unfolding here, shaping lives, fostering leadership, and building a resilient, faith-filled community. As we celebrate this anniversary, we reflect on the journey that has brought us to today and look ahead with anticipation for what’s next.

Our ‘crossing cultures’ adventure began over 35 years ago. In 1988 we moved to Sparkhill, an incredibly diverse area of Birmingham – inner city, multicultural, at the poorer end of the socio-economic scale and predominantly South Asian, either of Sikh, Hindu or Muslim religion.
